Dr. Brian SilvisDr. Brian is the Medical Director of Allegheny North Veterinary Hospital, Tender Touch Veterinary Hospital (Wexford), and Pets in Harmony Veterinary Hospital (Zelienople).
After completing his B.S. in Biology at Westminster College, Dr. Brian earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University in 1999. He worked in Erie, PA after graduation and helped found an emergency veterinary clinic before moving to Pittsburgh. Dr. Brian's family includes his wife, Kate (a professor at LaRoche College) and two beautiful children, Phillip and Clara. He enjoys spending time with his family, attending baseball games, rooting for OSU, and playing video games. The Silvis home also includes a furry family of two Pugs (Floyd & Forest) and two cats (Tigger & Siamese rescue Lilly). |
Dr. Lisa MacomDr. Lisa completed her B.S. in Biology at Gannon University in Erie, PA before earning her Veterinary Medical Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. She has practiced veterinary medicine for over 30 years, and has been with us here at Allegheny North Veterinary Hospital since 2001.
She appreciates the bond formed with her clients and their pets. Dr. Lisa especially enjoys seeing new puppies and kittens and providing lifelong care into their geriatric years. In her free time, Dr. Lisa enjoys hiking, reading, the beach, and baking. Her family includes her husband James (who is also a Pittsburgh veterinarian) and their two cats, Jelly & Pickles. |
Dr. Nathaniel GaiserDr. Gaiser also serves as Medical Director. He earned his B.S. in Biology from Penn State Erie, the Behrend College in 2004 and his M.S. in Biology from Clarion University in 2005 before completing his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University in 2009.
Dr. Gaiser has been working with us at Allegheny North since 2012. Passionate about his work, his favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is focusing on ultrasounds, surgeries, and chemotherapy treatments. Of ANVH, he says, "We have great clients and a great team. I enjoy working to help our clients keep their pets as healthy as possible and helping those pets recover when sick or hurt. Our team's knowledge and experience are essential to the practice and I enjoy working with them all." His free time is spent enjoying family time with his wife, Kasey and their 3 children, biking, golfing, and hiking. He is an avid Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers fan. The Gaisers share their home with a lovely cat named Tiger Lily. |
TawnyaPractice Manager
Tawnya joined our team in 2022, bringing with her over 25 years of management experience in various industries. As a leader, she enjoys having a direct and positive impact on team members and motivating people to reach their full potential. She loves organizing fun events for staff to lift morale and foster teamwork. Her favorite part about ANVH? "Working with kind and friendly people who genuinely care about our clients and their pets." Outside of the office, Tawnya enjoys reading and gardening. She lives with her husband, two children, and 3 dogs: Porter (Great Dane/Pit Bull), Ditto (Cattle Dog/Pit Bull) & Mocha (Chocolate Lab). |
JamieHead Veterinary Technician
Jamie holds both a B.S. in Veterinary Technology and an Associate of Science: Veterinary Technician. She is currently licensed to practice in Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania. She has worked in the veterinary field for 12 years, and is a current member of NYSAVT and NAVTA. Jamie's favorite aspect of the job is nutrition, dentistry, and client education. In her spare time, Jamie enjoys reading, hiking/exploring, watching the Big Bang Theory, visiting family and friends, and traveling. She likes watching her favorite hometown sports teams: the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills. Jamie shares her home with 4 cats: Tipsy, Holden, Indy and Mittens. |
AprilVeterinary Technician
April attended the Median Health and Allied Careers, now known as The Vet Tech Institute. April has enjoyed the last 15 years working in the veterinary field both in the emergency clinic and smaller animal hospital environments. Her favorite aspect of being veterinary technician is educating and talking to clients about their pets and demonstrating her love of cats! In her free time, April enjoys watching movies with her husband, Erik, and playing with their cats. They also share their home with a bearded dragon. |
AnnieVeterinary Technician
Annie earned her Bachelor of Science from Grove City College before continuing her education at the Vet Tech Institute. She has been working in the veterinary field for the past year and a half, but has shadowed veterinary professionals since she was in middle school. Her favorite aspect of being a vet tech is to watch the kittens and puppies grow into adulthood and forming relationships with the families. When she is not working, Annie likes spending time outside, being with her family and friends, reading, and eating ice cream. |
ShaniaCertified Veterinary Technician
Shania has been part of the ANVH family since 2020. A graduate of the Vet Tech Institute of Pittsburgh, her favorite part about working here is getting to know our patients' personalities, learning their quirks and hearing "at home" stories from their people. She shares her Ford City home with cat Chiquita and also owns two horses: a triple registered Quarter Horse named Hustled My Invite (a.k.a. "Mack") & a Miniature Horse named Reagan who is now semi-retired from showing. When she's not at work or in the saddle, Shania enjoys spending time at amusement parks & playing video games. |
CarleyCertified Veterinary Technician
Joining our team in February 2023, Carley has been an invaluable asset ever since! Education has been instrumental in shaping Carley's career. During high school, she attended A. W. Beattie Career Center for Veterinary Sciences, laying the foundation for her future in the field. She later earned an Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology from the Vet Tech Institute. Carley's exceptional organizational skills shine as she takes pride in keeping our hospital supplies neat and tidy. Her genuine love for animals is evident in how she always carries treats in her pocket, ready to brighten the day of our furry patients! Carley embodies the caring and compassionate spirit of a veterinary technician, and her dedication to the well-being of animals is evident in her everyday actions. One of Carley's favorite aspects of working here is the opportunity to meet new people and build meaningful friendships with her coworkers. Her great sense of humor and love for sharing "dad jokes" create a positive and enjoyable work environment for everyone. Carley's passion for learning extends beyond her current role, as she aspires to explore continuing education in veterinary ultrasonography. Additionally, her experience with cows during the large animal class at VTI left a lasting impression, and she dreams of working on a dairy farm if the opportunity arises. On a personal note, Carley hails from Pittsburgh and enjoys spending time with her beloved Beagle, Tucker. Beyond her work, she indulges in various hobbies, including camping, fishing, ATV riding, attending country concerts, and expressing her creative side through coloring and drawing. |
LynnLead Client Service Representative
Lynn is our lead Client Service Representative (CSR), and has been an invaluable part of our team since 2011.. She keeps an eye on our hospital supplies and is also our resident Hill's Prescription Diet guru. An eager learner, Lynn has obtained dual Bachelor degrees in Corrections Administration and Criminal Psychology from Allegheny Community College and an Associates degree in Architectural Drawing and Interior Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Her favorite aspect of the job is interacting with clients both in the routine care of their pets and in the difficult times. She also considers her co-workers here at ANVH as part of a family. Lynn shares her Canonsburg home two rescued Boxer mixes: Bubba and Angel (they're brother and sister!), as well as 3 rescue cats: Crazy, Wilson and Atticus. When Lynn is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family (including 5 grandchildren) and her pets. She also enjoys traveling and reading. |
ErinClient Service Representative/Pharmacy Technician
After 10 years as a veterinary technician, Erin retired from tech work and joined our team as a client service representative. She's a graduate of the Vet Tech Institute, and her experience makes her an invaluable first contact with clients who call with concerns about their pets. She's also excellent at keeping morale up in the hospital — she's the "clinic clown" that always keeps us laughing, even on tough days! Erin lives in Mars with Hobbs the cat and Queenie, a bearded dragon. Her spare time is spent outdoors as much as possible, hiking, forest foraging, and pondering metaphysical concepts. |
RoseClient Service Representative
Rose joined our front desk in 2021, bringing with her over 12 years of experience working in veterinary medicine. She enjoys getting to know all of our clients and interacting with the adorable dogs and cats that come through the door every day. She shares her Sewickley home with husband Chuck and Beagles Finn and Chance (Chance was rescued from the Envigo research facility!). Outside of the office, Rose enjoys spending time with family, reading, and watching Penguins hockey. |
